Alisa is a self-taught oil painter residing in Issaquah, WA. She has ties to the Sierras, Scandinavia, and of course, the Pacific Northwest. When she's not working as a land use planner or working out at the gym, she's standing in front of her easel distilling observation and experience into paintings that capture the feelings of a place and time. Perhaps a cast shadow or the color of refracted light might grab her attention, spark a thought, and end up on a canvas panel. Alisa works primarily in oils and frames her pieces in oak and hemlock float frames that she builds by hand in her studio. Alisa's full portfolio is viewable at johanssonfineart.com.
