Jocelyn Koel

I grew up in Wisconsin and am currently located in Washington. Besides making art, I enjoy being outside, eating local food, farming, and searching for mushrooms and cool rocks. I have a passion for documenting places that hold a special place in my heart and have found that I enjoy capturing others’ favorite places as well. 
A lot of the time when I’m painting I can vividly imagine myself in the exact place/moment in time I’m working with. This can be very refreshing which is probably why I enjoy it so much; it’s a nice escape from reality. I try to do the same when working on custom pieces, even though I may not have been there. My goal is to recreate the happy places and I really aim for that to come across in my work :)
