Mary Kate Lambright | Ceramics by MK
My pottery journey began when I was in high school where I took ceramics as my art elective. I had one full year exploring the world of clay and then lost touch with it when the class ended. Fast forward to Covid and needing something to occupy my time, I remembered how much I enjoyed playing with clay and the freedom to create whatever I wanted. I took my first official 6-week course and haven’t looked back since! Now, three years later, I have created my own style that fellow potters recognize at the local studio that I work out of, which is also where I am inspired by others creativity and feel motivated to continue making! The goal for my pottery is to create brightly colored pieces (which have unintentionally taken on a retro 70s vibe) that someone can use in everyday life while bringing a smile to their face.
Outside of the studio, I work at an inclusive preschool as a Behavior Therapist and am in a graduate program at the UW to go further into this field! I also love to ski in the winter and hike in the summer, and have recently been introduced to the world of sourdough.
