Mary Skomerza
In my art, I am inspired by the moody, mystical landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. From the subtle shifts of gray clouds on an overcast day, to a brilliant sunset over a field, there are so many moments of both dazzling and understated beauty in this region. I work in oil paint to imbue a softness over many of my landscapes to invoke an almost dreamy quality. I hope to create images that people want to spend time in; glimpses of a world both real and imaginary, brought to life on canvas.
