Scandia Wood-Blackwell is a local glass artist primarily focused on fused glass paintings that pay homage to the vast natural landscapes found in our area, as well as botanical portraits and still-life scenes. She works with sheet glass and crushed glass (frit) to create her images, usually from memory, rather than following a specific photograph. Her artwork style if creatively eclectic, often letting the imagery dictate the specific technique she uses to create a piece. Her artwork is ultimately presented in several forms from functional plates/platters and framed/unframed self-display art, to framed wall art, and more.
