Nicole Janzen

I'm Nicole Janzen, a need-felt artist who finds endless joy in working with natural wool fibers. Using hand-dyed wool roving and raw sheep's wool, I create richly textured, multi-dimensional pieces that reflect the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. My work incorporates reclaimed materials, unraveled wool garments, and found natural elements that add depth and character. A signature touch of metallic sheen enhances each piece, while the merino backing ensures everything remains 100% natural. 

Beyond needle-felting, I'm a sketch enthusiast, capturing life and inspiration through quirky continuous line-drawings and daily calendar vignettes. 

Originally from British Columbia, I've called Seattle home for 12 years. I'm a semi-retired teacher, avid hiker, gardener, traveler, and a delighted new grandma!
